R6 OP 3-16-19
Today selected r9 #3 and #9 to w-p-s and in ex box. That is Sonneteer (3) and Rated R Superstar (9). The former is 3rd off layoff. Has been steady. The bet is that something goes wrong with Snapper Sinclair and Giant Expectations, and that late runners that are not too far off come fwd. Both Soneteer and Rated R made nice moves at end of last. If I admit that Giant could have trouble – then I take this as a reasonable result.. maybe +33% to happen. Both horses were further back then I expected early, but Rated R came on like gang busters to win by a neck. It was a 14-1 upset. Snapper and Giant came in 2nd and 3rd. And Soneteer surprisingly did not hit the board, or fire at all, was up the track. Consistency in Beyers is not infallible isolated win signal by any mean. Of course, barring the dead heat, there is only one winner.
